How does a gematria calculator work

Gematria is a numerological system developed more than three thousand years ago by the Jewish people. It assigns numerical values to letters in their alphabet, which are used to interpret a word or phrase, and to seek out deeper spiritual meanings. Gematria uses the ancient Greek or Hebrew alphabets, and today it is an important part of the study of Kabbalah and other similar esoteric forms of spirituality.

A gematria calculator is an online tool used to calculate the numerical value of any word or phrase written in Hebrew or Greek through its compilation of a variety letters and numbers into one total sum. In order to use a gematria calculator, users must first enter the Hebrew or Greek word(s) into the designated calculator box. The calculator will then convert each letter into its corresponding number value (each letter has a specific numerical meaning). After the numerical values for each letter are added together, it will give you the total value for your term—essentially what we today refer to as "the gematria code"—or "Gematriya" for short.

The numerical total provided by the gematria calculator can then be interpreted as having various spiritual meanings. For example, some believe that each term with a certain numerical sum finds its root in common truths from Torah. Others may see this code as divinely appointed signs meant to position you towards a higher spiritual understanding of life's purpose and plan.
